Beginner Kickstart Course:
The advantage of the Beginner Kickstart course is you learn together as a group, starting from the fundamentals of the Astanga yoga sequence. Your teacher will take you step-by-step breaking down specific postures and expanding your awareness of working with the body as a whole through the breath and movement. After 4 weeks, you will be well on your way to understanding your own body, equipped with a focused self-practice that you can continue in any Mysore class or practice at home.
This course is suitable for all ages and no previous yoga experience is required.
Mysore (self practice):
For people who would like to establish a self-practice. The teacher works with each student individually within the class and over time new postures are learnt as you are ready. There are no classes on new and full moon days. If you are new to Mysore self practice, then please talk to your yoga teacher before you start a class so they can give you an introduction.
Mysore Community:
This class is by donation. All proceeds will go to local projects chosen by the group. If you are new to Mysore self practice, then please talk to your yoga teacher before you start a class so they can give you an introduction.
Guided Ashtanga (Full Primary Series):
Allows the student to experience a continuous talk-through class. Moving through the full Ashtanga primary series, this class is suitable for those with a semi-developed practice or those who have completed a Beginner Kickstart course.
Guided Ashtanga & Beginner’s Guided Ashtanga:
Beginner’s welcome to all classes. Moving through the basics of the Ashtanga primary series, this class will allow the student to experience a continuous talk-through class. This class will focus on the dynamic flow of the practice incorporating bandhas, ujayi breath and drishtis.
Rejuvenate:
Suitable for all levels. Gentle, slow moving and relaxing class incorporating rehabilitation for specific areas focusing on asanas (poses) that are suitable for overcoming back and neck pain.
Kids Yoga:
A fun yoga class open to kids ages 5 through 12 years old. Children learn breathing exercises, yoga postures and creative movement in a one-hour session in which parents are invited to participate if they wish. All classes promotes the development of strength, flexibility, coordination, healthy alignment, focus, awareness skills, relaxation techniques as well as physical and creative confidence.
Teens Free Styl’n Yoga:
Suitable for all levels. This class will work on building strength, developing flexibility, seeking balance and establishing greater awareness of the body, with added benefits such as positively clearing and calming the mind whilst enhancing levels of concentration. Classes will be fun, insightful and encourage participants to celebrate their body and expand their mind.
Guided Vinyasa:
Suitable for all levels. Movement class exploring different postures linking these with the breath.
Pregnancy/Post-Natal:
Suitable for all levels. Whether you are pregnant, already-a-mum or wannabe-mum, embrace motherhood by doing the best thing you could ever do for yourself and your baby: YOGA! Say goodbye fears, hello joy! Get ready to create new life and bring vibrant, joyful, healthful beings into the world! For many women it may be the first time they have attended a yoga class. Simple beginners postures are taught with varying levels of complexity offered to experienced yoga students. Yoga is recommended by health providers as a safe and gentle form of exercise during pregnancy.
