South West Surf and Yoga Retreats
Shhh, it's a secret…
Enjoy quality surf...
Barrels galore...
Or, watch it go by unridden...
Indulge in an ancient form of yoga practice…
And let us treat you to the freshest biodynamic food...
Straight from the garden...
No wonder we came home to Dunsborough…
Location
Arguably Australia's best kept secret, the South West of Australia is not only one of the world's biodiversity hotspots, but hosts world class waves, crystal clear water and stunningly beautiful scenery.
So we are guessing you've heard of Margaret River: where the ancient Karri Forests meet the powerful ocean... and you may have heard of the wines, the national parks, the wildlife and the laid back culture. Well, by the time we add yoga and fresh organic food to the mix, then there really is nothing more to say to entice you for a healthy visit!
Located only 3hrs south of Perth and in the heart of the Margaret River Region, Dunsborough is the ideal place for a Samudra Retreat - which is why we have set up our home base right in the heart of it all.
And as for natural beauty - you won't have to look hard to find an empty beach, a rocky shoreline and a lofty clifftop, and dolphins in the lineup, but you might have to search a bit harder for that rare native orchid, a breeching humpback whale and a cheap piece of real estate!

Detailed Daily Program
Every day you will arise to the smell of fresh air and the sound of the ocean. Then wander on down to the Shala where your teachers will guide you through your morning yoga practice in order to explore your unique self and surpass your self imposed limits.
After yoga, the group will then share a morning meal together - an experience in itself. To nourish and maintain your energy levels as all meals are vegetarian made from fresh locally sourced biodynamic produce, prepared by our very own Samudra Chef.
Then over to the beach we go, for a swim and expert guidance from our personal surfing instructors. Here you will learn all about the ocean, the way waves are formed, the way rips move, different sorts of waves and how best to tackle them. Free time in the afternoon will allow for more surfing, resting, swimming, sunbaking or exploring the coast.
Our afternoon yoga class will focus on the more specific details of the practice. Here we will address specific questions, covering meditation, yoga nidra, Pranayama- the art of breath control and the effects this has on your mind and body. This class is intended as a rejuvenative reunion with the self.
Then after taking time to absorb the lessons of the day, the group will meet for a delicious meal of organic high-energy foods that nourish the body and soul. Night is a time for rest and reflection-a chance to embrace what you have given yourself during the day. Often in the evening we will host guest speakers or relax in front of a Surf or Yoga-related movie.
Meals
Based on ayruvedic, macrobiotic and raw food, fresh, vegetarian meals will be provided each day. We bring all these principles together by focusing on the common thread - which is that good, locally sourced produce prepared in a spirit of love is the best food around! We believe this will enhance your physical and mental abilities on the retreat and inspire a healthy and energetic lifestyle. Our very own Samudra Chef will be on hand to walk you through the biodynamic garden share a wealth of knowledge. Any specific dietary requirements can be accommodated. (Please see Vitality Food section for more info)
